Halmstad Hammers Hockey Club started 2005-11-18 but ice hockey has been played in Halmstad since 1961.
We have some 1000 members today out of which at least 650 are active players or leaders.
Our senior team is currently playing in the Swedish First Division (HockeyEttan) and has done so since 2009.
HockeyEttan is in reality Swedens third division after SHL and Hockeyallsvenskan.
Besides the senior teams we have groups/teams for all ages. Starting with our Hockey school for ages 7 and below going up to U16 and the junior teams J18 and J20. Naturally we have a female team and an old timer’s team as well. Recently we added a amateur hockey-team.
Halmstad Hammers Hockey Club is commonly called ”Halmstad Hammers” or just ”Hammers” referring to the clubs name in the years 1998 – 2005. At this time we were playing in “hockeyallsvenskan” the second highest division in Swedish hockey.
No wonder the name lives on…..
